Treating Your Spa with the AQUASPA™ Chlorine & Bromine Free System

Using the AQUASPA™ Chlorine & Bromine Free System is simple and allows you to enjoy your spa quickly. Follow these steps:

1. Fill the Spa: Place the hose through the filter box. Leave the cover off.
   
2. Add Chlorine Remover: Use AQUASPA™ Chlorine Remover according to the label directions. This step is essential as all water contains some chlorine. Run the filtration pump only for 30 minutes.
   
3. Check Water Levels: Use a test strip to check pH, Alkalinity, and Calcium Hardness.
   
   • pH: 7.4-7.6
   • Alkalinity: 125-150 ppm
   • Calcium Hardness: 200-275 ppm
   • Use AQUASPA™ Alkalinity Enhancer or AQUASPA™ pH Reducer to adjust pH and Alkalinity.
   • Use AQUASPA™ Calcium Enhancer if needed.
4. Add Spa Sanitiser: Add AQUASPA™ Spa Sanitiser at 60ml per 1000 litres. Run the filtration pump only for 1 hour.
   
5. Add Spa Shock: Add AQUASPA™ Spa Shock at 20 grams per 1000 litres. Run the filtration pump only for 30 minutes.
   
6. Add Spa Kleer: Add AQUASPA™ Spa Kleer at 60ml per 1000 litres. Run the filtration pump only for 30 minutes.
   
7. Run Filtration Pump: Continue running the pump for a minimum of 6 hours, or until the water is clear.
   
8. Clean Filter Cartridges: After 24 hours, remove and clean the filter cartridges using AQUASPA™ Instant Filter Klenz.

How to Convert Your Spa or Hot Tub to AQUASPA™

Converting an existing spa to the AQUASPA™ CHLORINE & BROMINE FREE SYSTEM is an easy process. Soon you’ll be enjoying the benefits of a sanitising system that is gentle on both you and your pocket! Follow the simple steps below and you’ll be back in your spa in no time.

1. Remove the cover from the spa.
2. Remove filter cartridges and thoroughly clean using AQUASPA™ INSTANT FILTER KLENZ.
3. Add AQUASPA™ PIPE KLENZ at a rate of 250ml per 1000 litres then run pump for 2 hours (see label for full instructions).
4. Scoop foam residue from spa, drain spa then thoroughly wipe spa with soft cloth.
5. Refill spa through filter box with fresh water. Reinstall clean filter cartridges.
6. Add AQUASPA™ CHLORINE REMOVER as per label directions (all water has some chlorine) – THIS STEP IS ESSENTIAL. (Run filtration pump ONLY for 30 minutes).
7. Check pH, Alkalinity and Calcium Hardness level using test strip.
   • pH should be between 7.4-7.6.
   • Alkalinity should be between 125-150ppm.
   • Calcium Hardness should be between 200-275ppm.
   • Use AQUASPA™ ALKALINITY ENHANCER or AQUASPA™ pH REDUCER to adjust pH and Alkalinity levels.
   • Use AQUASPA™ CALCIUM ENHANCER to increase Calcium if necessary.
8. Add AQUASPA™ SPA SANITISER at 60ml per 1000 litres. Run filtration pump ONLY for 1 hour.
9. Add AQUASPA™ SPA SHOCK at 20 gram per 1000 litres. Run filtration pump ONLY for 30 minutes.
10. Add AQUASPA™ SPA KLEER at 60ml per 1000 litres. Run filtration pump ONLY for 30 minutes.
11. Run filtration pump for a minimum of 6 hours, or until water is clear.
12. After 24 hours remove filter cartridges and clean using AQUASPA™ INSTANT FILTER KLENZ.

Some Helpful Tips

1. More is NOT BETTER – DO NOT OVERDOSE.
2. Accurately calculate the CORRECT VOLUME of your spa or hot tub spa to ensure that you are not overdosing or underdosing with any of the chemicals in the AQUASPA™ RANGE. It is particularly important with regard to AQUASPA™ SPA SANITISER to add the correct dose each week.
3. When adding chemicals, run filtration pump ONLY.
4. Always remove the cover when adding chemicals and LEAVE UNCOVERED FOR AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR to allow spa to breathe.
5. When adjusting pH, it is better to use HALF RECOMMENDED DOSE at a time, rechecking after 1 hour
   • pH should be between 7.4-7.6.
   • Alkalinity should be between 125 -150ppm.
   • Calcium Hardness should be between 200-275ppm.
   • Use AQUASPA™ ALKALINITY ENHANCER or AQUASPA™ pH REDUCER to adjust pH and Alkalinity levels.
   • Use AQUASPA™ CALCIUM ENHANCER to increase Calcium if necessary.
6. Use AQUASPA™ INSTANT FILTER KLENZ to clean filter cartridges once per week OR after high usage.
7. We recommend using AQUASPA™ PIPE KLENZ at least once every 3 months and it must be used prior to draining your Spa.
   • Spas should be drained EVERY 3-6 MONTHS and more often with high usage.
8. Alcohol consumption will significantly increase the amount of bodily fluids & fats released into the spa.
   • These body fats will be trapped in the filter cartridge until it becomes clogged.
   • The water will then start to cloud.
   • We recommend that, for optimum water clarity to be restored, filter cartridges should be cleaned immediately.
